Thanking Veterans Through a Week of Serious Fishing and Powerful Healing

Recovering service men and women leave Walter Reed Medical Center for a week of serious fishing and powerful healing. They take some of their first steps back in the civilian world and travel to Martha’s Vineyard where a community comes together and opens up their island and its fish-filled waters to the veterans who have fought to keep us safe. We see stories of stunning commitment to service, harrowing war experiences, and the challenges each face on the long road to recovery. Between the thrill of the catch and warm New England hospitality we witness a dramatic change in our vets and experience first hand the very embodiment of the spirit of coming home.

Thank you Nat Geo for letting these Warriors taste the salt air and reel in some big ones. These simple gestures show that these men and women are still 100% Warriors. Thank you all for your service. Way to go Nathan Rimpf! You are truly inspiring. Wearing your band reminds me every day that no challenge can beat you. Rangers Lead the Way!
