Medieval Fight Book

What kind of dispute could only be settled by combat to the death? In Medieval times, there were actually seven. In these “judicial duels,” men often faced women in battle. Even more shocking than this means of justice were the weapons used to execute…literally. A rock in a cloth was used to swing a lethal blow to the skull. And that’s just the tip of this iceberg. We learn that these duels were very likely between husband and wife. This really brings a whole new meaning to battle of the sexes. Check out the clip and be sure to tune in for the full story tonight at 10P et/pt. Want more in the meantime? This is one crazy video. I can’t believe it was husband vs. wife… to the death!

I’ve been studying Medieval Martial Arts for four years. While this documentary is excellent and very well put together, it barely even stratches the surface of an absolutely astonding story. The story of Europes lost and forgotten martial arts and the brilliant minds of its custodians. More of this type of story please.
