If you’re visiting Washington, D.C. this week don’t miss the Environmental Film Festival. On March 24 there will be the world premiere of the film “Africa’s Lost Eden,” which documents the battle of conservationists to restore wildlife to the lush floodplains of Mozambique after years of civil war. This documentary will also air on Nat Geo Wild this Spring.
Following the screening, journalist and host of MSNBC’s Hardball Chris Matthews will moderate a panel discussion featuring James Byrne, the film’s producer, Judy Oglethorpe, of the World Wildlife Fund, Fernando Sumbana, Jr., Mozambique’s Minister of Tourism, and Gregory C. Carr, who has pledged $40 million to rebuild the park so it can serve as a source of tourist income for the local population.
