StarTalk is back for a second season and tonight Neil deGrasse Tyson (your personal astrophysicist) has a very special guest: President Bill Clinton, who Neil considers an honorary member of the geek club. Among Bill Clinton’s many other interests, he will talk to you about Einstein, artificial intelligence, the impact of science on society, and the cosmic perspective.
In this clip, President Bill Clinton shares how a moon rock helped him keep the peace in the Oval Office.
Also on StarTalk, Tyson is joined in the Hall of the Universe by comedian co-host Chuck Nice and guest Juan Enriquez. Enriquez is one of the world’s leading authorities on the uses and benefits of genomic code. Synthetic Genomics, a company that he co-founded, produced the world’s first synthetic life form and the first standard, programmable cells.
In front of a live studio audience, Tyson and guests discuss the importance of science in politics and how it affects society, the scientific breakthroughs brought fourth through the Human Genome Project, and current and future advances in artificial intelligence.
Adding to the discussion, professor Richard Muller patches into the studio via live video call to talk about science influencing politics, Tyson answers fan questions about artificial intelligence, and Bill Nye gives his take on advancing scientific progress in America.
Don’t miss the season premiere of StarTalk, this Sunday at 11/10c. Can’t wait? This episode is now streaming online for customers of participating TV providers.
