On an all-new season of Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks, rivalry and treacherous conditions appear to be the perfect storm when it comes to running into danger for our captains. After making a good a haul up north during their summer fishing season, Captain Dave Marciano of Hard Merchandise, Captain Tyler McLaughlin of Pinwheel and Captain TJ Ott of Hot Tuna are taking a risk by making a pricey journey down south. They hope to be able to continue their catching streak but that won’t be easy with the fierce competition in the south.
Southern captain Greg Mayer, of Fishin’ Frenzy, is set on catching more fish than anyone in the south or coming in from the north. He faces some steep competition from newcomer Captain Charlie Griffin, who has just joined the Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks fleet with his boat Reels of Fortune. His reputation is legendary, with more than four decades of experience and one of the hardest working mates around—his 23 year old son, Jake.
Captain Charlie also knows the Outer Banks, one of the most dangerous and most difficult places to catch Bluefin tuna in the world, like the back of his hand. So, what will happen this season?—Will Captain Greg be able to outsmart the dangers of the Outer Banks, rightfully nicknamed the Graveyard of the Atlantic?
Can Captain Charlie and keep his title as the highest earning Bluefin team in the fleet two seasons running? Find out when the season premiere of Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks returns tonight 9/8c.
