The Mamanuca Islands of Fiji are an archipelago of about 20 islands. Although maybe Chuck Noland and Wilson the volleyball might disagree (the movie Castaway was filmed on one of the islands), the islands are, quite literally, heaven on earth. Similar to Hawai’i, the volcanic islands are home to pristine waters, unique flora and fauna and breathtaking sunsets. The islands are also home to a unique population—a cultural melting pot of people from India, Europe, China and Pacific Islanders—who are known for their hospitality and friendliness.
The amiable people and beautiful scenery make the islands a popular tourist destination and the many resorts offer typical island activities like snorkeling, parasailing, zip lining, and dolphin-watching.
Tune in tonight at 7:30/6:30c as Zane ventures to Fiji in search of island brews, tropical cocktails and a traditional Kava ceremony.
