Did American Blackout get you a little worried? Let’s learn from the Doomsday Preppers. Season three premieres tonight at 9p.

Forget bottled water in the basement and a few extra batteries. Prepper MacGyvers across the country are testing the limits of ingenuity as they develop even more extreme tricked-out Doomsday survival machines, high-tech shelters and specialized escape routes. With customized features, super-secret locations and home-spun engineering, these Armageddon defense systems are designed to keep their owners prepared for any scenario.

Doomsday Preppers returns with a whole new season of bug-outs, bunkers and back-up plans for the back-up plans. Beginning Tuesday, October 29, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, Doomsday Preppers follows Americans from across the country as they prepare to protect themselves and their families from what they believe is an impending disaster — whether it’s nuclear fallout, financial collapse, power grid failure or something else.

Now, more than ever, preparedness is at the forefront of many people’s minds. But for some people, preparedness isn’t just at the forefront, it’s an obsession. We’ll take a look at a whole new level of bigger builds, more advanced technology and even more extreme survival plans.

Season three kicks off tonight at 9p with Doomsday Preppers: Take Our Country Back.

I watched the preper in Alaska and he was putting his caches in the water. If he every saw what a tsunami does he would see the wave would wash all of his caches away just like flushing a toilet.

Just got to say……Im a little disappointed in this series. If you watch this series you would have to assume you need to be a bazillionaire to be self reliant. Season opener…..1 guy has an armored personnel carrier (along with his mansion) and the other guy has 32 bug out vehicles….SRSLY? You just turned off 99% of the prepper community who have real jobs! Try focusing on Joe Everyday sacrificing meals to prep……I can relate to that guy……If I had a million bucks I could buy 10 years of freeze dried food and a tank!

I am amazed at the prepper season opener. How many people do you know have the kind of money that the so called preppers the show featured tonight? The man in Colorado, ran off in a dually and fifth wheel once he saw a wild fire 15 miles away. Some prepper he is.

The Natives of this continent call it Turtle Island. They know we are all islanders. Of that community, it is the White Man that has never experienced horrendous man-made calamities in his own backyard. (The poor souls that were shipped overseas were only cannon fodder for some remotely controlled conflicts.)
So when disaster struck (e.g. at some tall buildings, some years ago) the White Man displayed pants-full of great fear and never-ending worry. “What to do?” “What does this mean?” “How could this happen?”
Hence the panic of the doomsday preppers. It is only fitting that most of these also happen to be very wealthy types…

I watched the prepper last night who was one of the ones who was doing great till the economic correction of ’08 and like the others’ decided it was somehow wise to prepare for a nuclear attack from his own country. Wow, just wow! Then he freaked out when a brush fire was spotted miles away and he fled his tree- and brush free compound, speeding off in $100K+ worth of late model dualie and fifth wheel trailer! I guess people have different reactions to the economic rug being pulled out from under them.
