It’s a battle of wills on the North Atlantic, as two of Gloucester’s top Bluefin fishermen, friends-turned-foes Paul Hebert and Dave Carraro, go head-to-head in a bid to out-fish each other.

Last week, Dave fired Paul Hebert as first mate on FV-tuna.com – and it was just the push Paul needed to make his dream of becoming a skipper a reality. Now, Paul’s captaining new boat Lisa & Jake – and he’s called on his older brother Bruce, a Bluefin fishing legend, to join him in his mission to smash his old employer.

On FV-tuna.com, Dave is spooked by Paul’s quick transition into captaining a competing boat. The talk around the Gloucester fleet has always been that a huge part of the boat’s success was due to Paul, and now Dave’s out to prove that he and Sandro can maintain their reputation as the season’s top boat – without Paul.

The dramatic change-up on Gloucester’s most successful Bluefin boat has the whole fleet talking about – and picking a side – in the Paul versus Dave battle.

On Pin Wheel, young captain Tyler McLaughlin and his mates hope to capitalize on Dave’s diverted attention and retake their place at the top of the leaderboard. They take a chance by fishing next to a scallop boat at night – a potentially lucrative but very dangerous technique.

For captains Bill Monte, of the Bounty Hunter, and Dave Marciano, of the Hard Merchandise, the idea of another boat entering the competition increases the pressure. These two boats have not had much luck so far this season, so it’s crunch time.

With only five weeks left in the Bluefin Tuna season, Paul has a limited opportunity to step up as a captain and make a name for himself and his new boat. Will he sink or swim?

Are you a fan of new-Captain Paul? Since he was just added, he’s way behind in fan-votes on the Wicked Tuna Leaderboard, so and add your vote today!

It seems the show is beginning to be more scripted. I don’t believe the smart ass attitude from Tyler is something he would be doing on his own. Please leave it natural.

Hey Paul,am glad that you succeeded in obtaining your dream and have a boat of your own to Captain, you know you showed David up and it pissed him off, when you and Sondro caught 2 tuna when he was gone. no problem, you can do it,We are rooting for you you were Dave’s good luck on the boat and he is to stubborn to admit it.God Bless and may all the big tunas come to you.Good Luck!

National Geo,should take that Tyler kid off,he is not helping the show,He makes me want to record the show ans just cut out or skim over the part where he is. He is a bully and immature brat, his dad should take the boat from him til he grows up and becomes a man, which I don’t see happening, can’t make a silk purse out of a pigs ear. and he is a pigs ear.don’t watch the show like I use to,since he pushe the Capt. of the Bounty to pushing him and then the Capt. got suspended from the pier, didn’t like that at all!,Get rid of that kid and make me happy watching the other guys again!

Hi, trying to find out how to send a comment to the guys at Wicked Tuna is awful. I wanted to send a question to Hard Merchandise of, do all of the teams use the same kind of fish bait? these small fishing boats are really small, do you really feel safe in these small boats? LOVE ALL THE TEAMS!!!! God Bless……….

good luck capt …your fishing wisdom, and great sense of humor remind me of of the late great capt charles fossani out of belmar ,nj, he ran open boat tuna trips, and helped me catch one every time i sailed out with him.one time the sea was so rough, that while everyone was inside staying dry, and heaving, me ,capt charley and the mates were the only ones fishing, sitting on a school of yellowfins…i stopped tuna fishing 20 yrs ago, but after watching wicked tuna, i realize how i miss it…and fishing on the bucaneer with capt fossani..good luck !!

Paul….I hope you beat .Com’s butt!!! I wish you would take Sandro aboard the Lisa & Jake with you, how exciting would that be? As far as the others, I do feel sorry for the Bounty Hunter. They aren’t as young as Tyler and his friends, and it seems they have a hard time with everything. Good Luck this season, I think you should get T-shirts printed up!! :)

This show is staged for television. When the season starts in the summer months and ends in December, how can there only be 15 or so weeks in the season? It seems that the results are almost scripted such that it would go down to the final day(s) of the season, please. I enjoy some of the captains and the reality of their existence but please keep the showboating out.

In viewing the leader boards, it’s easy to see the monies earned for weeks of fishing. What is not reported is the cost. Do you have any calculation of the ave. costs per week in fuel, bait, and other expenses, not to mention boat maintenance?

    Thanks for the entertainment!

good job on paul and this new boat and crew, great guy and very funny dude, cracks me up whenever i watch you on tv.
hope new season you’ll beat tuna.com and pin wheel, and show how good you are as a fisherman! i was very surprised to see lisa and jake hit 3rd place on the leader board, that show me how a fisherman is so damn hardworking and just going all the way up to be the best in the fleet and beat everyone! wish you all the best for the next season and hoping to watch the show on tv again, the best fishing show at the moment! and lastly the crew of bounty hunter, odysea and h.merchandise needs to push a bit harder to get back on track. good luck boys! Hey Pauly
i live about 1/2 hr south of Lake Ontario I spent summer after summer for years running down what we’ve got for big (the Kings and the Chinooks) certainly nothing by comparison but I’ve never been able to put the jack together to make the trip down, it will come I’ve no doubt. just like the shits going to come together for you brother, I feel it in my bones. believe it or not your on my lottery list, if I hit you put the shit needed list together and I’ll send you the check. All I would ask is to see one of those beasties laying on the deck waiting for his trip to Japan world, and i mean it, just once unless you were to find me usefull for something other than chum of course, yeah!!
The wife has business in your neck of the woods about monthly, unfortunately they only gave us four days notice , so Ill be there this Monday and Tuesday 21st and 22nd i know its not notice but hey you never know. I’ll work for free and even through in a couple of hundred for gas for the honor. So many things to say … Fish Well and mostly be safe the other sides a great place but I can’t get anyone to give up any fishing info. Go Figure!!!!
