Incredible Dr. Pol: Hog Days of Summer

Pigs are typically raised on farms as livestock.

The Michigan heat is taking its toll on Dr. Pol and his team this week.  But unfortunately for these vets, the animals are suffering from the rising temperature. Dr. Pol and his son, Charles, treat a calf with pneumonia that is not faring well with a thick blanket of humidity covering the area. They hope their treatment will strengthen this newborn’s lungs. Dr. Pol also does a house call for a nearby family, the Howells, who seem to have a lame family riding horse named Nort. If their horse has a broken leg, the Howells family may have to put him down. Will Dr. Pol be able to help ease Nort’s pain in tonight’s episode?

On the other side of town, Dr. Brenda sets up in a sweltering pen in attempt to deliver several piglets. After an hour of poor results, she calls Dr. Sandra for back up. With the brutal heat and a stubborn pig, this delivery proves to be extremely challenging.

For most, a heat wave means staying indoors where it’s nice and cool, but not for the Pols. Doc Pol, Diane, and Charles spend their day-off baling hay in the blistering sun. Not everyone has the stamina of one of Michigan’s busiest vets, though.

This is one exhausting week for Dr. Pol and his central Michigan team, but as always, they power through, making sure every patient gets the treatment it deserves. Tune in to The Incredible Dr. Pol: Hog Days of Summer at 9p tonight and see if Dr. Pol and his crew are able to help the animals this week.

    I LOVE The Incredible Dr Pol and hope that you will keep the episodes coming. I enjoy Dr. Pol and his terrific attitude and care of the animals. I enjoy seeing Charles helping his dad. He is very funny!. Love Dr. Brenda and Mrs. Pol. I am 70 also and have always loved animals of all kinds. This is the best show ever!! Keep them coming! And thank you so much for the good programming! I tell all my friends and family to be sure and watch it.

    Why are all of these shows about domestic animals (Dr Pol, Cesar Milan) on Nat Geo Wild? They are shows about domestic animals not wild animals. They would be better off on Animal Planet. We would like to see more shows about wildlife and nature on Nat Geo Wild.

    This show is a horrible portrayal of veterinary medicine. I’m disgusted, and this *ss should lose his license. -from a CVT that works for a competent veterinarian.

    I love Nat Geo Wild, especially Cesar Millan and the Dr. Pol Show. There is much I admire in Dr. Pol but I would like to start a campaign to get him to stop criticizing his son Charles so much. Really, Charles is a great kid but Dr. Pol watches and then criticizes Charles’ every move.
