Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in 1865, but some have said that his spirit has lingered on—and not just figuratively, either. Over the years, there have been multiple purported sightings of his ghost—at the White House and Ford’s Theatre where he was assassinated, at Fort Monroe in Virginia, and at his tomb in Springfield, Ill.

The epicenter for Lincoln sightings, not surprisingly, is the White House, where he lived during the last four tumultuous years of his life.     Very good show,but I wish that lincoln would have just left things as they were,some things are better left alone………it was so sad that the decision he made got him killed and it was for nothing,it backfired on him and I’m sorry he had to die for it,now these are just wasted spaces of life ……..

    Great documentary. I have the understanding the Mrs. Lincoln never went by the name Mary Todd Lincol and that this was something made up by joutnalists.

    I thought Lincoln was very well done. The actors did a good job. It did not deviate from any of the books I’ve read on the subject and seemed historically accurate. A sad moment in our nations history.

    it is 801 miles using mapquest to go from washiungton d.c. to springfield ,il.. and not 1654 miles as read by tom hanks.

    tom was talking about the funeral train going to springfield

    I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE SHOW DID NOT MENTION WHO WAS BEHIND THE ASSASSINATION AND WAS THE MASTERMIND BEHIND IT ALL…WE KNOW IT WAS ALBERT PIKE BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO WANT THE PEOPLE TO KNOW THE TRUTH…..WHY??     Well done. This is by far the best work I have ever seen on the Lincoln topic . I am a Civil War reenactor . I play a surgeon . Everything I saw was right on the numbers. The person who made the comment on the miles of Lincoln’s train . The train did not take a direct route to Springfield.

    I did some reading in my books. The train made many stops . Total miles 1,700 . Give or take a few miles . 1654 would be very close to that number . Time Life Books ” The Assassination ( Death Of The President ).

    Thank you Nat Geo, for having the program Killing Lincoln. It is good to see this kind of program, that Is actually about a time in our history as Americans. I like seeing something on your channel that realates to actual events. There needs to be more of these types of shows, instead of reality programs. This is what you were once known for. Keep these programs comming in the future

    Very interesting program, especially in the beginning. When the commercials started it was extremely difficult to follow because the commercials were about every 5 minutes. Don’t put as many commercials in shows like this or viewers will stop watching.

    Why is it necessary To have the logo of National Geographic on all the time. Also why is it necessary to show commercials in the lower left hand of the screen during the program. You Already have commercials. This extra on-screen stuff ruins the program.

    On April 14th, 41 days after his second inauguration, and just 5 days after General Lee surrendered to General Grant at Appomattox, President Lincoln is shot by John Wilkes Booth, at Ford’s Theater. He would later die of his injuries. Subsequent allegations that international bankers were responsible for President Lincoln’s assassination would be made in the Canadian House of Commons, nearly 70 years later in 1934.
    The person who revealed this was a Canadian Attorney, Gerald G. McGee. He had obtained evidence deleted from the public record provided to him by Secret Service Agents at the trial of John Wilkes Booth, after Booth’s death. McGee stated that it showed that John Wilkes Booth was a mercenary working for the international bankers. His speech would be reported in an article in the Vancouver Sun, dated, 2nd May 1934, which stated,
    “Abraham Lincoln, the murdered emancipator of the slaves, was assassinated through the machinations of a group representative of the International Bankers, who feared the United States President’s National Credit ambitions. There was only one group in the world at that time that had any reason to desire the death of Lincoln. They were the men opposed to his national currency program and who had fought him throughout the whole Civil War on his policy of Greenback currency.”

    The movie says Lincoln died on a saturday April 15 1965. That is mathematically incorrect. April 15 is on a Monday this year. 148 years has 37 leap years which totals 185 days to be subtracted. 185 days is 26 weeks 3 days. The 3 days is the key. Subtracting 3 days from from Monday equals a Friday. Unless we skipped 1 leap year, then Lincoln died on a Friday.
