The thrill of the hunt. This season of America The Wild is legendary. When faced with the daunting task of filming several of the world’s most elusive animals, you shudder at the thought of failing. I asked for it. I wanted to do shows about mountain lions, wolverines, and polar bears. Many before me attempted the same, but failed. So when Nat Geo Wild said “OK Casey, go for it!” I was excited and scared. This is NOT scripted television. There are so many unknowns and so many variables, but sometimes, the stars just aline. This season is just that, a visual experience of a lot of luck, hard work, and epic moments. Going face to face with mountain lions, polar bears, and wolverines and filming first-ever-filmed behavior, and emotional moments makes this season my favorite yet. From the bottom of the grand canyon to the frigid arctic, I went through a roller-coaster of emotion. I cried and I laughed, and it is my hope that you will experience all of this with me. and feel how wild America is.
In this clip from the upcoming season premiere this Sunday at 8P et/pt, Casey meets an orphaned wolverine that rescues him from a staged avalanche. Jasper is the perfect introduction to the wolverines that he’ll encounter in the wild, more on that later.
