NG Channels Viewer Favorites Week of Feb 20, 2012

This week on National Geographic Channel, Doomsday Preppers continues its amazing run on the channel, the #1, 3, 6 and 11 most viewed shows of the week.  Doomsday Preppers has become the highest rated series in the history of the network in its short time, we are glad so many viewers are watching.  Other shows this week included Russia’s Toughest Prisons, a repeat of a show about, well tough prisons in Russia, our investigation into American Escorts in Vegas was our #4 show for the week and rounding out the top 5 was our premiere of our new series American WeedAmerican Weed covers the debate over medicinal marijuna in Fort Collins, Co. lots of discussion on this show here in this blog.

On Nat Geo Wild, no Cesar this week in our top shows as a wide variety of wild animals popped to the top of the charts.  Mother Croc, one of my all-time favorites was our #1 show for the week- its a story we don’t usually see, how mother crocs navigate the first few days of their offspring.  Other top shows on Wild included my favorite titled show The Whale That Ate Jaws, Elephant Death Circle, Clan of the Meerkats and Queen of the Warthogs.  So Crocs, Whales, Elephants, Meerkats and Warthogs – man, do I love working here.

Would someone please set me straight on the “doomsday preppers” show? I don’t understand if these are REAL PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE that THEIR scenario will be the end of the world as we know it or if this whole thing is just a “contest” to see who is the “best prepared” for the “end”.
    Maybe just another “reality” show.

Its not a contest, this is simply a show that follows 2-3 preppers each episode, how they are prepping, what in general they are prepping for and offers an outside expert (practical preppers) to evaluate. there is no prize, no contest, no voting off, just a look into an impressive group of people doing what they can to ensure the safety of themselves, their families and their friends and neighbors.
