Tweet Chat With #Preppers Tonight at 9P ET

With our new show, Doomsday Preppers, premiering one week from today (on Feb 7 at 9P ET), we wanted to give our viewers a chance to learn more about the prepper community and what you can expect from the show. We’ve partnered with Survivor Jane, creator of the Twitter hashtag #preppertalk, and an expert on survival preparedness for women. Jane will be hosting a one-hour Tweet Chat tonight (Tuesday, January 31st) at 9P ET. Bring your questions, your thoughts and come ready to tweet and learn more about prepping! To participate, go to and follow the hashtag #preppers – And be sure to check back with us at the blog as we’ll feature the best tweets of the night.

Saw the show last nite, enjoyed it, might recommend to the Preppers that they install some sort of face on their canning shelf racks to keep all of their goods from falling off the shelf and breaking on the floor when the earthquake or other hits.

Quick draw? Really? Although overall the show may raise some level of awareness – and how individuals conduct themselves is their own business – teaching others brings another whole realm of scrutiny. Who has certified her to teach – what professional body/organization has done this. Just from a “that ain’t the way we do things” – the quick draw? Anyone who has any training in defensive handgun is well aware that if you don’t have it out BEFORE you need it – it won’t matter! Situational awareness!! No one wins a quick draw. Ever hear – “action beats reaction” – didn’t think so. The myth of the “quick draw” should be put away – once and for all. As well, where was the teaching of use of cover? There was no movement integrated into the teaching – although it was just a snippet of the “course” – it was not seen. The over extension and off center of balance is also something that was concerning. These are all fundamental practices that are integrated into any professional defensive handgun course – situational awareness, weapon indexing WELL before the encounter, proper use of cover and movement, balance.

Like I said – if an individual wants to practice things they learned on “Charlie’s Angels” that is all well and good – but please don’t take these out to the public and pretend that they are accepted practices in the law enforcement/armed civilian component of people that really do train and teach — and practice these skills each and every day.

If you are receiving money for this quality of instruction – it would be nice to know who taught you. The pedigree/line of student to teacher and certifying agency is critical. Shame on NatGeo for not having the finer points of some aspects of the show scrutinized — now there are many people who think they actually learned something about defensive handgun handling from your show. There was much information that could be useful – but some of it is dangerous!

What happens to all the people that are in prisons? What if they are turned lose? Or are gased!! Over 2 million are in our prison systems now.

What happens to the 1 out 4 who over weight? That is 77 million people. Do we use them as sand bags??

When is the last time you people rode a bicycle? If there is fuel for vehicles. How are you going to get to your Bug-Out-location? WALK??? Everyone has to think hard about all these questions.

Give me your feed back on these questions. Must think out of the BOX!!

Watched the show on the Feb. 21, The woman preparing for the pendemic, looked more a cleaning lady than anything else! Her daughter-in-law looked very PO’D at her mother-n-law. The woman had no protection for her family(weapons showing). The woman’s dad wanted to watch the ball game. I can see this woman wears the pants in the family. If you seal off the house from inside, with all those in it, don’t you run out of air to breathe?? What if the germs are carried in the air??? The older people are not going to hold their breathe, while changing into new outfits daily.

On the episode on at 9:00 & Midnight here, the Jacksonville, FL preppers headed to the hills of Tennessee, a 9-hr. drive, with their youngest daughter unrestrained in a belt-positioning booster in the rear seat. PREPARE for the immediate threats to your children’s safety, parents!
